Merit is pleased to offer this exceptional 1972 911S in Light Yellow over black interior with only 72,250 miles. This car came to us after the last owner, who was a huge Porsche enthusiast, recently passed away. He had owned the car since the late 1970’s and was the second owner on the car. We had lengthy discussions with his family about the car and to say this car was his pride and joy would be an understatement. The signs of a fastidious owner are apparent everywhere on this car from the numerous Concours first place wins to the impeccably maintained engine bay and distinct Porsche smell, still apparent in the car.
The exterior of the car is in exceptional condition with no dings, noticeable scratches or rust. The interior is pristine as well with only minor cracking in one spot on an otherwise perfect dash. The carpets are very nice with some minor discolorations and the seats both front and rear are excellent. All gauges work and dials/knobs show only the slightest wear. The previous owner did do a complete frame off respray of the car back in the 1980’s back to the original color of yellow to take care of some imperfections in the paint. Other than that respray, the car is represented as original with matching numbers for engine, transmission and chassis. There is no evidence of any bodywork or accidents and furthermore, due to the quality of the respray, we saw no issues with rust on this car.
The car just went through a thorough inspection and extensive service at Perimeter Porsche to bring it back to good working order. It runs exactly as it should with no known issues. All copies of those service records are available. The car comes with the original tools and some service records. This is a car that any new owner would be proud to have in his collection or as a driver to be enjoyed and appreciated as it should be.
